Blog Your Blessings Sunday - An Amazing Opportunity
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the PR manager for Hidden Valley® Ranch® dressing and dip. Of all the Canadian cooking blogs out there I was chosen as one of the top influential Canadian bloggers to compete in the Hidden Valley Ranch™ Recipe Challenge to be judged by Chef Ned Bell and if successful, my recipe with full bragging rights would be live demonstrated by Chef Bell at the 100th Calgary Stampede (July 6 to July 15, 2012) on July 12 or 13. As a food blogger with no formal culinary training, just blogging about the food we like and how I make it, this was a huge and amazing opportunity. I would be competing against 15 Canadian bloggers for one of four prizes. Of course I said yes!
Despite being sick and battling two stifling heat waves, not being able to find a couple of ingredients I wanted to use and several failed attempts, I managed to get two entries submitted by the deadline. I am now sitting on pins and needles awaiting the verdict. What a week it has been!
