A Bit of Pampering

Oxygen Bar
October 7, 2009

During the last leg of our recent road trip we stayed at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Today's casinos offer so much more than gambling and in fact you can entertain yourself quite nicely without ever stepping onto the gaming floor. Soaring Eagle offers a variety of eateries with the snack bar and buffet, top notch entertainment, banquet facilities along with a wonderful, luscious spa facility. You can lounge in their gorgeous pool overlooking a nice view of the outdoor fountain and hot tub, soak in the indoor hot tub or indulge in one of the many services the spa offers.

When traveling a bit of pampering is always nice. I discovered oxygen bars quite some time ago on one of our travels. Basically oxygen is scented with certain scents meant to relax or stimulate or give another effect while refreshing you with the increased oxygen level getting into your lungs and hence to your brain. Treatments range from 5 to 30 minutes costing according to the length of the treatment. Treatments may or may not include a light massage to help relax you. You simply sit on a stool, get hooked up to a disposable rubber tube attachment that inserts into your nostrils and sit back to enjoy. I chose lavender to help reduce my stress level with a 10 minute treatment. After the treatment I booked an appointment to have my make-up done then wandered off to tell my husband I was going to play online in the room. Wi-Fi is included so this gave me a chance to unwind a bit from all the sensory over stimulation of the gaming floor. I can seriously only handle so much at a time! While I was catching up online I flicked on the television to see what was cooking on the food channel. It looked good so I curled up to watch it then promptly fell asleep! The next morning I enjoyed having my make-up done feeling quite good that I had taken the opportunity to enjoy a bit of pampering.
