On Thursday (July 1, 2010) we celebrated Canada's 143rd birthday. For many Canadians Canada Day was the first day of a four day weekend this year, a much needed break from the daily routine. Canada Day signifies the official start of summer. The kids are out of school and for two short months they enjoy their new found freedom. The past week's blessings focused on Canada itself. We are so lucky to live in such an amazing country where we can enjoy a rather abundant lifestyle. We are indeed very blessed to be able to call Canada our home. As much as the recent G20 events with police abusing their power and the Ontario government systematically taking away civil liberties during th eG20 we are vividly reminded as to how good we do have it in Canada. At some point both the police and the Ontario government will be accountable for their actions and that is ONLY because of our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This week has been one of appreciating what we truly do have in Canada and how very blessed we are!
