I'm so glad you could stop by. This is my personal blog of daily life and my journey through life. You will find a strong emphasis on family and friends as well as finding my ancestors through genealogy. Unlike my other blogs this blog is more of a catch-all so any topic is fair game.

A Taste of Winter
By mid-afternoon last Friday we had about 7 cm of snow. It was the first major snow fall of our winter season considerably later than normal. We've had snow for Hallowe'en some years and usually have snow in both November and December. This year nothing other than a few half hearted attempts with nothing more that a light patches of accumulation scattered around the edges of the walk. Friday we had travel plans that were immediately cancelled due to the size of this storm cell. It was immediately apparent that not only would we be dealing with the actual storm cell but additional lake effect snow. It didn't help that our plans called for traveling into worse rather than better weather conditions with weather warnings, road/lane closures, reduced visibility and icy conditions. As road conditions continued to deteriorate due to falling and drifting snow we we glad we decided to cancel our travel plans. Unfortunately it is that time of year when winter weather can be rather unpredictable which can directly affect traveling. It's always best to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to winter storms.
